“I describe my yoga training as the process of waking up and taking the self off autopilot. In developing a deeper connection with my body and breath, a sense of freedom and self-acceptance began to surface in my life; I long to share this sense of opening in my classes. My flowing Vinyasa sequences call on students to attune to the body and tailor their practice in a thoughtful, individual way.”
Elle had practiced yoga on and off for years—first approaching it as more of a physical workout and a way to manage stress—but her yoga practice shifted when she moved to Rhinebeck and discovered Rhinebeck Yoga Center (known as Satya from 2005-2018). She studied with Sondra Loring and received her 200-hour certification in 2016 and her 500-hour certification in 2017. This two-year immersion enabled her to learn from many beautiful teachers including Sarah Willis, Liz Levine and Allison Sinatra.
In addition to teaching yoga, Elle does community outreach at Project More’s Women’s Center in Poughkeepsie. Having previously taught middle and high school, she also volunteers to bring mindfulness and meditation to the students in the Rhinebeck Central School District.
