“After many years of practicing yoga I can now say that the most important benefit for me has been using this practice to know, accept and explore my true self…when I started to see (my own) transformation, I had to teach it to others. I felt empowered and wanted to empower others. I love the physical practice, and love to teach people how to use their bodies. I love to teach students to love their bodies and minds as imperfect as they are. I love to challenge students to look at what’s hard in life. I want people to leave my class feeling empowered to make change or look deeper or just be who they are!”
Liz has practiced yoga for more than 30 years, beginning her studies in the 1980s at her mom’s yoga/aerobics studio on Long Island. As a runner and student, she realized early on that yoga was the perfect path for her. She earned her RYT 500 and Baptiste Level I and II Certifications, and has studied yoga with Beryl Bender Birch, Thom Birch, Jonji Provenzano, Sondra Loring, Jessie Lee Montague, Raghunath Capo, Baron Baptiste and Paige Elenson. Liz has taught at Rhinebeck Yoga Center (known as Satya from 2005-2018) for the past several years.
Her classes teach students to develop a love for yoga and all it has to offer. Liz is a physician who specializes in Internal Medicine at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, and has begun a program to teach yoga and meditation to healthcare providers.
